Vale Do Lobo Shopping

Apart from playing golf, eating and lazing on the beach all day the next thing we all seem to look for when we are on holiday is shopping.

Vale do Lobo Shopping is conveniently located at the central Parque do Golfe complex, and offers a range of boutiques, beauty centre, pharmacy, newsagent and bank.

You will find a couple of gift shops in the main plaza (Praca) area down by the sea and the shops sell everything from exclusive diamond earrings to designer clothes from Tommy Hilfiger.

Tabacaria do Golfe stocks a wide selection of international newspapers and magazines in English, German, French and Dutch as well as greeting cards, confectionery and ice-cream. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 09.00-13.00 and 14.00-19.00

The Vale Do Lobo Pharmacy, Farmarosa, is open from Monday to Saturday 10.00-13.00 and 14.00-19.00.

At Vale do Lobo Beauty Centre there is a nail bar and a hair salon Capelli which is managed by the Victor Picardo Group. This has become one of the most successful hairdressing groups in Portugal, with nine salons now open. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 10.00-13.00 and 14.00-18.00

Gant & Henry Cotton’s sells collections from both of these elegant brands which combine casual wear with elements of sports and high street fashion. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday10.00 - 19.00.

Nevada Bob's Golf caters for all your golfing equipment and clothing needs selling golf balls, gloves and soft spikes through to top of the range sporting apparel. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 10.00-13.00 and 14.00-19.00

Garrafeira Soares is one of the most successful wine and spirits chains in Portugal offering a
wide selection of wines, champagnes, spirits and gourmet nibbles. A wine-tasting service is offered here with a different wine being available to taste each day. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday
10.00-13.00 and 14.00-19.00

Vale do Lobo Shops

The nearest supermarket is by the entrance to the resort, but the most popular local supermarket, Apolonia, is in Almancil which is at the western end of town about a 10 minute drive from Vale do Lobo.

Apolonia has a great range of fresh produce such as meat, fish, fruit and vegetables along with an enormous range of UK brand products. If you are staying here for longer than a few days then it is worth a trip to this supermarket.

There is also a large supermarket, Modelo, on the outskirts of Loule which is a market town 10km north of Almancil. The neighbouring resort, Quinta do Lago, has extensive boutique shopping as well as golf, leisure facilities, bars and restaurants.

Alternatively you could visit Forum Algarve which is on the outskirts of Faro and has over 120 shops, 20 restaurants and a hypermarket.

Local Markets

The best and nearest market is in Quarteria on a Wednesday morning. You will find some excellent cotton, linen, and leather goods here.

Loule also has a similar market on a Saturday morning as well as a daily market selling fish and vegetables in the centre of the town.
