Restaurants In Vale Do Lobo

Vale do Lobo has 15 very good restaurants where you can enjoy international cuisine ranging from Asian to French and Italian to Portuguese seafood specialities. Over half of the restaurants are located at the beachside Praça ranging from the exclusive La Place and TeaHouse Oriental to Pizzeria La Terrazza, Monty´s Steakhouse and the more casual Papagaio, Sandbanks and the Beach Bar - all of which offer children´s menus. During the day La Crêperie is the perfect place for lunch or a snack.

All the restaurants and cafes serve top quality food and if I had to pick a favourite it would be Julia's Beach Bar (which as the name suggests is right on the beach just two minutes outside Vale Do Lobo). We love Julia's Restaurant so much that we have written a whole review of it which you can read here.

Pure

Pure is the café-bar-restaurant at the Royal Spa which serves light meals to help with weight loss and promote a feeling of well-being. The menu ranges from fruit and vegetable snacks to full meals, incorporating fish, meats and salads.

Café Royal

Café Royal is also known as the Halfway House and overlooks the 9th hole of the Royal Golf Course. The café offers a range of delicious baguettes, sandwiches and pastries as well as a selection of soft drinks, beers and spirits

Amore Pizza

The stylish Amore Pizza, Pasta Restaurant has a vibrantly coloured dining room and large outdoor terrace overlooking the centre stage of the Praça, where live music is played every night in summer.
They offer a wide range of home-made pizzas, fine pastas and fresh salads to cater for every taste.

On the upper level of Amore there is a spacious Deck Bar where pre-dinner aperitifs or after-dinner drinks can be enjoyed in a comfortable sofa area with stunning views over the ocean.

La Place

La Place offers gourmet French cuisine in elegant surroundings, with stunning views of the ocean from most tables in Praca. The restaurant’s ‘Trilogy’ concept allows diners to sample small portions of three different dishes for one set price.

Teahouse Oriental

This Asian-fusion restaurant features culinary experiences from Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Vietnam. The Teahouse serves unusual, top quality dishes and offers exceptional service. The décor is simple with a large outdoor terrace with sea views.

Spike's Restaurant & Spike's Brasserie

Spike's Restaurant is in the Parque do Golfe in the centre of Vale do Lobo with fantastic views of the putting greens and sculpture park. Menu classics include Duck Breast Salad with foie gras and Roasted Lamb Carré with spinach gratin. Spike' s also serves appetizing salads, fresh vegetable soups and grilled meats served with vegetables.

Spike's Brasserie at the Clubhouse is the perfect place for breakfast or lunch. Snacks and light meals are served throughout the day on a large outdoor terrace which overlooks the putting green and sculpture garden, while the air-conditioned sun lounge offers attractive views of the Parque do Golfe area.

Ken Lo’s Memories of China

This restaurant offers a relaxing atmosphere with a terrace overlooking Tennis Valley, that is used throughout the summer season. The menu provides a good selection of chinese dishes to suit every palate.

Barringtons

Barringtons offers traditional and Mediterranean menus serving seasonal produce. During the colder winter months you can visit the Breeze Restaurant with views of the outdoor pool and lucious sub-tropical gardens where you can sample fresh starters and main courses like fish, chips and mushy peas or pasta with fresh salmon for under €10.

During the summer there is a Splash Bar which serves salads and barbecues along with local fish dishes.

If you are golfing at Barringtons then try McGinty's on the Green at the golf driving range which is open 7 days a week from 09:00 until late. The new manager Brian McGinty and his partner Christine took over just a month ago and have very successfully introduced a new breakfast menu and a special opening offer of reduced drinks prices so that you can get a large beer for just €2.00.

Sandbanks

Sandbanks overlooks the beach with spectacular views of the ocean. At lunchtime it serves an extensive range of salads, grilled fish and light meals with a special children´s menu. It is also perfect for evening meals serving fresh seafood specialities.

Monty's

Monty’s offers stylish food and drink in an informal atmosphere with modern decor and live music.

Classic dishes include Tempura Prawns, Lamb Shank, Seared Salmon as well as Cumberland Sausages and Mash. Later on in the evening Monty’s becomes a late night music and karaoke bar.

La Terrazza

La Terrazza serves great Italian food in atmospheric surroundings as the inside is ideal for intimate dining, while a spacious terrace provides the perfect setting for families to enjoy the lively atmosphere of the Praça, especially in Summer. They offer an excellent range of home-made pizza and pasta dishes, as well as meat and fish specialities cooked to original Italian recipes with fresh ingredients. There is also a children’s menu.

Papagaio Beach Restaurant

Papagaio Beach Restaurant overlooks the Vale do Lobo Beach serving fresh fish and seafood dishes with specialities including fresh sole, cataplana and lobster. A wide range of salads and light bites, including melts and burgers, are served throughout the day. Later on they provide lively music and exotic cocktails.

La Crêperie

La Creperie is in the centre of the Praça serving delicious crêpes, snacks, light meals and salads throughout the day. The all-day breakfast served in winter is a must while the ice-cream and smoothie bar is a great temptation on hot summer days.

In the evening La Crêperie’s is situated right beside the stage where live music is performed and it is a great venue for families to enjoy the summer evening menu (including a children’s menu).

Beach Club

The Beach Club is right on the Vale do Lobo beach serving a lunch time menu of salads and snacks, as well as a daily choice of fresh fish and shellfish. Major sports events are screened here and it transforms in to a lively venue later at night, when the bar is open through to the early hours with a DJ playing the latest tunes.

Tennis Café

The Tennis Café and bar is located in the Tennis Academy’s club house. It has a large terrace which overlooks the tennis courts and swimming pool and serves breakfast, a wide variety of drinks, meals and snacks throughout the day.
