THE VALE do Lobo resort has recently announced that its 500 million euro investment plan to develop the Vale do Lobo III area can now begin, following the approval of the technical infrastructures plan. The project has been in the pipeline for some years, but there was a long delay in the government approving the Plano de Pormenor (detailed plans), for which the green light was finally given in 2004.
The detailed plans for the Vale do Lobo III area, which intertwines with the resort’s Royal Golf Course, include a five star hotel, comprising 180 luxury suites, and 126 plots for 283 luxury villas and apartments.
The Almancil business association is running it's popular Quinzena Gastronomica from the 1st of October through to the 15th October. There are no shortgage of entrants for this years "local restaurant" competetion with prizes available for the best starter, best meat main course, best fish main course, best dessert, best menu and best quality and service.

Free transport between the clubs in Vale Do Lobo and the busy tourist towns up and down the Algarve are available over the summer months thanks to the mobile phone company, Uzo who are sponsoring the buses.
The service will run untilt he 15th August and the main areas it will operate in are: Albuferia, Loule, Vale do Lobo and Quinta de Lago. In total there are four brightly coloured buses that can seat up to 80 people and the service will run from midnight until 0915 the following morning.
